Most people tend to get confused between coconut water and coconut milk; the first thing you have to know is that coconut water and coconut milk are not the same. The thinner fluid found inside the coconut is the water and the extracted product made by blending coconut meat and the water inside is the coconut milk. As this is a very versatile product, it can be used in many different recipes in a lot of different ways.

There are several delicious ways in which coconut milk can be cooked or included in delicacies. In fact, it is one of the main ingredients in Thai, Burmese, Filipino and a lot of other popular south-east Asian dishes.

Apart from the Thai chicken, coconut spinach chickpeas and other such starters there are also some other good delicacies which can be made out of coconut milk.

The first thing which you can choose to make is the smoothies. Make sure that the milk which you buy is very fresh and also creamy. The first thing to do is add some coconut milk to the smoothie and then start the preparation. This will give it a creamy and fresh appearance and taste. After correctly blending all these ingredients and the milk you can have a tasty fruit or chocolate smoothie ready to enjoy.

Secondly, you can also use coconut milk for baking. There are many recipes which will include milk. Coconut milk can be a great alternative for milk in a lot of recipes. With its natural sweetness, you can also consider using lesser sugar, thus making the dish healthier as well. Make sure that you read the recipe well because you will have to alter the proportions of the other ingredients. However, once you start using it frequently, you will become well-versed with the amounts that will be required for different baking preparations.

Lastly, you can also choose to make coconut ice cream with the milk that is extracted.  A lot of times homemade ice-creams have a milkier taste to them however using coconut milk, such an issue can be avoided. A small tip here is to use a good quality blender so that ingredients are mixed well. Here you can also try different variations like a sweet and light dessert or then some variation like coconut-litchi ice cream etc.

Coconut milk can surely make an appetizer, main course dish, soup or dessert tastier and healthier.
